The Homeone Owner Builder Course is accredited by the NSW Government Office of Fair Trading (OFT). As of the 1 October 2010 the means of acquiring an owner builder certificate will change. It can only be acquired by a Registered Training Organisation approved to deliver the Course In Owner Builder Compliance. All registered participants with the Homeone Owner Builder Course up to and including the 30 September 2010 will still be able to take the course and upon completion lodge the certificate to with the OFT to obtain the relevant permit. Participants have up to and including the 30 December 2010 to lodge their certificates to obtain their owner builders permits. We thank you for your patronage.

How do I obtain my owner builder certificate?

Once you're signed up to the owner builder course simply; 1) Login with your username and password from any computer with Internet access, 2) Study the reference material for each course, 3) Take each quiz, and 4) Upon successful completion of the five quizzes you'll receive a Certificate of Completion by mail.



Upon receiving your Homeone Owner Builder Certificate, take it along with your DA Conditions of Consent, a form of identification (ie drivers license) and proof of residential address such as a utilities bill with your name on it, to the NSW Office of Fair Trading. The application should be processed and an Owner Builder License issued on the spot.
